Liverpool Ensured its Way to Premier League by Defeating Bornemouth

Liverpool get back to victory. Having a match with a guest team, Bournemouth, ‘The Red’ won 2-1 despite Bornemouth first goal seemed threaten them.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth match in the 29th week of the Premier League takes place at Anfield on Saturday (07/03/2020) night WIB. Liverpool came on a bad note, losing three of their last four matches.

The Merseyside boys have fallen in their last two matches, losing 0-3 to Watford in the Premier League and beating 0-2 to Chelsea in the FA Cup. Bad signs could be seen when Bournemouth scored in the ninth minute through Callum Wilson.

Although controversial because there is encouragement to Joe Gomez in the process of goal creation, Video Assistant Referee (VAR) does not see it as a violation. Luckily for Liverpool, Bournemouth then made two fatal mistakes.

Careless bait from the Bournemouth defense led to a goal by Mohamed Salah in the 25th minute. Another haphazard pass from the visitors produced a Sadio Mane goal eight minutes later.

No more goals were created despite Liverpool continuing to control the match in the second half. Liverpool won 2-1 and now leads the standings with 82 points. Salah et al 25 points ahead of Manchester City, while Bournemouth has 27 points at number 18.

Liverpool has secured the Premier League title next week after a 2-1 win over Bournemouth at Anfield Stadium on Saturday 7 March.

Victory over Bournemouth makes Liverpool currently 25 points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League standings. Mathematically Liverpool only need nine points to ensure the Premier League title for the first time or the first Premier League since 1990. However, Jurgen Klopp’s team can ensure the title faster.

Quoted from the Daily Star, Liverpool can ensure the Premier League title in 2019/2020 next week without having to play again. With a record Man City must lose in the next three matches.

Man City will undergo three Premier League matches before Liverpool return to play, namely against Manchester United (8/3), Arsenal (11/3), and Burnley (14/3).

Liverpool Can Champion Premier League Without Playing Next Week

If Man City lose in the last three matches then Liverpool will certainly be the Premier League champions before against Everton on Monday (3/16) evening local time. The reason is, Man City will only have a maximum of 24 points until the end of the season.

Man City’s chances of losing to Manchester United, Arsenal and Burnley are fairly small. Even so Liverpool are still favorites to be the Premier League champions because they only need nine points to ensure the title.

Interestingly, Liverpool can ensure the Premier League title against Man City at the Etihad Stadium on 5 April. “We have to keep working hard, that’s what we have to do. We now have 82 points, which is a good position. But, we have to keep fighting. Give the best resistance to every opponent,” Klopp said after playing against Bournemouth.
